...A King who does not save Himself ...Lk.23.35-43

Nov. 21.Sunday – Christ, the King

 ... "The Little Prince" - I think there is none here who has not heard about  this Title. From childhood, this is  well known and loved by us. Children like to play the role of prince and king, princess and queen.  World History has witnessed many kings and queens. But we usually associate them with negative stories. They are often known for their luxury and for efforts to save their own life, not the lives of their subjects or their fellow human beings. The image of a king is always connected with powerful deeds.

Today we hear from a very different king. Although he has all the power he uses it not for his own salvation. He is the right king and an example for all kings. This is the central message of today..

Jesus was and is the  king of the world. The Jews wanted to make him their king. They have seen his miracles, for example the feeding of 5,000 people etc . They thought that if Jesus is their king, people need not be  hungry or thirsty and everything would be all right. But Jesus was not willing for  the kingship. When he knew that people wanted him as king, he went away through the crowd. He was not longing for  a kingship in the earthly sense. He only wanted  to save the poor, the mourners and the hungry.

But Jesus was the King . When asked by Pilate, Jesus declares that he is a king. But he says quite clearly and openly that his kingdom is not of this world (Joh.18.36). “If it were of this world, my servants would fight, so that I would not be delivered to the Jews” - as we read in John's Gospel (18.36). Here we find a king who makes no effort to save himself. (With the writing, 'This is the king of the Jews, the Jews wanted to mock Jesus.) If a king is attacked and conquered , then usually go away his people permanently  and they no longer exist for him.. With Jesus it is different, his group  or people became stronger and larger. That's the difference between a king of this world and Jesus.

Kings are not elected. They normally come from a family by way of power  through   inheritance. Jesus is also one that we don’t choose, rather he chose us. He is our king. To  his disciples he said once that he had chosen them and not in the other way.
We are chosen by our King Jesus. Jesus’ Kingship is not to suppress the  people, but  to love and let live . He has shown us this with his life. He loved all people from the heart. He was not a king, who showed his power before the whole world. He wanted people to lead  towards his father.

His way is not that of oppression, but of liberation. Oppression robs freedom from people. In many countries there exists the rule of oppression- we  read about it in the newspapers. But those who stand for the freedom of people until death,  follows Jesus’ way of Kingship.

 In today's Gospel we see that Jesus could have helped himself. The soldiers and the thief on the left side have laughed at Jesus: "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!" (Lk.23, 37)

Today when we celebrate the day of Christ the King, it is important that we look at the whole world. Let people  be under  God's Kingdom, where people have the freedom to eat, to speak, to live etc ? We know that many problems exist in the world is because of the misunderstanding/wrong understanding of Rule and Kingship. Many  people understand kingship and rule wrong, e.g Terrorism, Communism without faith in God, oppression in countries ruled by soldiers. ... etc. There, the kingship of Jesus is not a role model.

We have a Festival called ‘Onam’ .in  Kerala, a state-in South India- There is a legend behind this festival . It is in memory of a king, under whose reign  all people were equal and happy.

When we think today of  Jesus as our King, let us learn from him.  Amen

Lk.23,35-43……Ein König, der sich selbst nicht rettet…- Nov. 21.Sonntag –

 Letzter Sonntag im Jahreskreis – Christkönigsonntag

„Der kleine Prinz“ – ich denke, es ist keiner hier, der diesen Titel noch nicht gehört hat. Von Kindheit an sind diese Geschichten sehr bekannt und beliebt bei uns. Kinder spielen sehr gerne die Rolle von Prinz und König, Prinzessin und Königin. Auch in der Geschichte gibt es viele Könige und Königinnen. Meistens verbinden wir sie mit negativen Geschichten. Oft sind sie bekannt für ihren Luxus und dafür, ihr eigenes Leben zu retten, nicht das Leben ihrer Untertanen, ihrer Mitmenschen. Das Bild von einem König ist für uns immer mit machtvollen Taten verbunden.

Heute hören wir von einem ganz anderen König. Obwohl er alle Macht hat, benutzt er sie nicht für die eigene Rettung. Er ist der richtige König und ein Beispiel für alle Könige. Das ist die zentrale Botschaft..

Jesus war und ist der König der Welt. Die Juden wollten ihn zu ihrem König machen. Sie haben seine Wunder gesehen, z.B. die Speisung von 5000 Menschen. Sie dachten, wenn Jesus unser König ist, müssen die Menschen nicht mehr hungern und es wäre alles in Ordnung. Aber Jesus war gegen diese Königswürde. Als er wusste, dass die Leute ihn zum König haben wollten, ging er weg durch die Menschenmenge. Er will kein König im irdischen Sinne sein. Er will immer nur die Rettung der Armen, der Trauernden und der Hungernden.

Aber Jesus war König und ist König. Auf die Frage von Pilatus erklärt Jesus, dass er ein König ist. Aber er sagt ganz klar und offen, dass sein Königtum nicht von dieser Welt sei ( Joh.18.36 ). Wenn es von dieser Welt wäre, würden meine Leute kämpfen, damit ich den Juden nicht ausgeliefert würde – so lesen wir im Johannesevangelium ( 18.36 ). Hier finden wir also einen König, der nichts macht, um sich selbst zu retten. (Mit dem Schild ‚‘Das ist die König der Juden’ verspotteten die Juden Jesus.)

Wenn ein König ausgeliefert wird, dann gehen normalerweise seine Leute weg. Bei Jesus ist das anders, seine Leute wurden stärker und größer. Das ist der Unterschied zwischen einem König von dieser Welt und Jesus.

Könige werden nicht gewählt. Sie stammen normalerweise aus einer Familie. Jesus ist auch einer, den wir nicht wählen können. Er ist unser König. Zu seinen Jüngern hat er gesagt, dass er sie ausgewählt hat.

Wir sind von unserem König Jesus auserwählt. Aber nicht, damit wir unsere Mitmenschen unterdrücken, wir sollen sie lieben und leben lassen. Das hat er uns mit seinem Leben gezeigt. Er liebte alle Menschen von Herzen. Er war kein König, der seine Macht vor aller Welt zeigte. Er wollte die Menschen nur zu seinem Vater führen.

Sein Weg ist nicht die Unterdrückung, sondern die Befreiung. Unterdrückung raubt den Menschen die Freiheit. In vielen Ländern der Erde herrscht das Königtum der Unterdrückung, wir können davon in der Zeitung lesen. Wer sich aber einsetzt für die Freiheit der Menschen bis hin zum Tod, der folgt Jesus nach. Im heutigen Evangelium sehen wir das. Jesus könnte sich selbst helfen. Die Soldaten und der Dieb an der linken Seite lachen Jesus aus: „Wenn du der König der Juden bist, dann hilf dir selbst!“ ( Lk.23,37 )

Wenn wir heute Christkönigfest feiern, ist es wichtig, dass wir auf die ganze Welt schauen. Lassen die Menschen Gottes Reich kommen, in dem die Menschen die Freiheit haben, zu essen, zu sprechen, zu leben? Wir wissen, dass viele Probleme in der Welt darin bestehen, dass Menschen Königtum falsch verstehen, z.B. Terrorismus, Kommunismus ohne Glauben an Gott, Unterdrückung in Ländern, die von Soldaten regiert werden….usw.  Dort ist das Königtum von Jesus noch kein Vorbild.

Wir haben ein Fest, das heißt ONAM für unser Bundesland-Kerala. Dazu gibt es eine Legende. Es ist die Erinnerung an einen König, unter dem alle Menschen gleich und glücklich waren.

Wenn wir heute an Jesus als unseren König denken, dann lasst uns lernen von ihm. Amen

World and Life - A Long Lasting Film(Lk.21,5-19)

 

"When I watch a film I should watch it from beginning till end. Otherwise it is boring and meaningless".

Many people say so.

I think that's right.
In today's Gospel we have a glance at two different perspectives.
There are the people who enjoy the beauty of the temple and speak praise about it.
But Jesus, the  Prophet  tells them ahead of the expiry of the temple, ”No stone will be  left unturned. Everything will be torn down”. He predicts of  a difficult future. He speaks of war and unrest, earthquakes, pestilence and famine.

Jesus, the Son of God knows the past, present and future of everything.
He knows what was in the past and what will happen in the future. Therefore, he could predict all these tragic things too.

The people there have seen only the present - only a part of the whole. They thought that  the current beauty remains. Only what is now, for the people is important and right.

We humans have  only a partial   view  of the world and life with ‘a life span’s  time’ . Only in  this time limit we can see the history of the world with our eyes. And that is a tiny moment in comparison with God's eternity.

Only One knows the whole "world history" and that's GOD!

Our world or the cosmos is a film, that no one can ever see from beginning to end.

Jesus, Son of God, sees everything and knows  everything. He foresees war and unrest. He speaks of suffering and trials in faith.

All that Jesus speaks of in the Gospel today, we see around our lives: war, earthquake, dispute in the family, famine, etc. Many people who see these things happening, say and think that  the end of the world is near.

Today we celebrate the National Day of Remebering Soldiers who lost their lives in World Wars . We pay tribute  in a special way to the victims of war and violence. War was for many the end of ‘their time’. I think that these people might have thought then that would  have been  the end of the world.
Jesus tells us very clearly, that the world does not end with these characteristics. Last year I watched the movie "2012". That deals with the theme of  destruction of the world in a few years. You may have already watched  it out. It is good sometimes to ponder over these things.

But Jesus warns us against false prophets: "Beware that they do not mislead you."
Although we people know things more and more scientifically, but I think the superstition is also increasing. Many people are afraid of a troubled life, a natural disaster. And many do have a strong fear  of death and of the dead People.

I've heard that it was once so common by  you to pray for the dying at the deathbed. Previously people were not so afraid to look at the faces of the dead and stand at the open coffin.
Death, cemetery, war and natural disasters - all this reminds us that the end of time here on this world for us once comes to an end. This memory can help us make our life a little better every day

Jesus wants us  always remember that beauty has another side. But he says that we do not have to be  discouraged, rather to be strengthened in  faith in him .

The word of Jesus gives us strength and hope in all the trials and sufferings to persist: "By your perseverance you will secure your lives."
O God, give us the strength for that. Amen.

Pferd und Reiter

Ein Pferd und sein Reiter machten bei einem Wettrennen mit.

Plötzlich, kurz vor dem Ziel wirft das Pferd den Reiter ab.

Dieser fragte sofort das Pferd warum es Ihn abgeworfeb hat.

Das Pferd antwortete:
                 "Du bist mir viel zu schwer und mit Dir im Sattel kann ich nicht für Dich gewinnen".

Be Humble

A horse and its rider took part in a race.

Suddenly, just before the  finishing point the  horse made the rider fall down from up.

After when the horse came back victorious,  asked the rider why the horse did so .

                        "You're  too heavy to run up along with.You should not be heavier than the one who carry you to win the game for you." Answered the Horse.

 Lazar and the rich man
Just as the whole gospel, so also today's Gospel has a message for us. It talks about 2 people. A wealthy man and a poor man .The rich man has no name. The poor man is called Lazar. This story talks about two situations - first, about life in this world and secondly, about life in the world after death.

In the first situation, the rich man lives a luxurious life, while Lazar had a difficult life. The rich man had everything he needed to live- had enough and more food, clothes and  housing. He had not only enough, but also all in luxury. He dressed himself in purple and fine linen and lived ..... so says the gospel.


On the other side is Lazar. Lazar had nothing to eat. He would gladly be satisfied  with the food remains that fell from the table of the rich.
He was terminally ill: we read in verse 21: Instead, the dogs came and licked his sores.

In the second situation, we hear that Lazar died first and he was promptly carried into Abraham's bosom. About the burial of Lazar nothing is spoken, while  the rich man's  burial is  spoken of .

The difference between the first station and the second is important to be noticed. The rich man who was in the first station, , has lived in his earthly life  in  luxury and carried into the underworld, where he suffered excruciating pain.

The reason for this is very important to us.

The rich man who had no eyes in his earthly life for the poor, the hungry and homeless people sees  Lazarus from the underworld.  But even there he sees Lazar as a servant, not as of equal status.  This shows the terrible mentality of the rich man.

The main message of today's gospel is nothing else. Care the other people. Do others what they wish or need,  give them what they need, especially the helpless, poor, sick, etc.

What we have is the grace of God, even if we have got it through our work. Of course, health is always the grace of God. What we receive, we must share with our fellow human beings. That can be work, spending  time for  others, or having a good smile at others ... ....

The rich man in our gospel had to share the opportunity with Lazar. The rich man had previously  everything and lived a life of high status. But the wealth has made him selfish and blind to his neighbour. Even if he has open many times the doors of his house he has not opened his heart . He has offcourse  Lazer and his situation seen. But that did not move him do amything for him or  in his heart felt nothing . That was his mistake.  . Sometimes we can be like the rich man.

One whi is rich with money should also be rich in  heart . Jesus needs us to be so . Money can not lead us to  good goals without the help of eyes and hearts . This leads us only to anxiety and unhappiness. When we share our happiness is greater.  We are born as social beings  and if we share, we are human, so divine.

We have the freedom for both - to look only at ourselves or at others also.
(Who wants to be happy - in this world and in the world to come - stick to the message of the gospel: shares wealth, health and prayer with other people.)


 Amen.

Life of Gratitude - Lk.17 :11-19

 While Jews believe  themselves to be   God's chosen people,saw  the  Samaritans as "unclean" to. .
In today's Gospel we find a Samaritan, along with nine other lepers, because all the lepers were banished from the community .
In the state of  illness all 10 were equal - the same  sickness, the same isolation, the same unhappiness.  Then there was no difference between Jews and Samaritans.
But after the healing, they are no longer equal. Only 1 returns to the sourc of cure.His soul also is purified.
The great example of the Samaritan shows us that people who belong to God, should always be  grateful to God. In gratitude we let God be large.
Cicero says: "Gratitude is not only the greatest of all virtues, but the mother of all others." From the air to the ground, what we eat and drink what we breathe, all we have and is necessary for life comes from God.

Prayer- A Life Sign (Lk.18:1-8)

Chile was in those days, a focal point in the media.
We all know why.
The longest rescue in the mining industry in the world happened there.
In a tunnel break in the copper mine San Jose
in the Atacama desert, 33 miners were under the soil..
They survived 33 days in the underground.
On August 12 said the Ministry of Mines that the probability to find the miners still alive is  "low" .
On 22 August came out  a sensational message to the world:
On a small piece of paper the miners under the soil  sent the message to the top:
 "All 33 are there. "A camera showed the first pictures of the miners.
On 13 October all were in a sensational action brought to light ... ... ... ... ...

In today's Gospel we hear the parable of the widow and
the unjust judge. Jesus exhorts us  "at all times to pray."
That is, to pray persistently.
Prayer is  the most important link between God and man.
In the buried miners in Chile, was a note the important link between the people under the earth and the people the above were.

We also often experience situations where we just feel like the buried miners, helpless and without any connection to someone who can help us.
Yes, we do sometimes experience of a world where darkness and helplessness surrounds us,  and we long for and call for help.It is as if ones  calling upwards from the bottom . This call
from bottom to top can also be called prayer.

Prayer is a sign of life. Prayer is like a call to God from the earth to heaven  .It is a sign of our presence.
If we need help and call upon God, we show him that we are there.  The connection to God in prayer is vital - always - not only in times of need.

Jesus calls us in today's Gospel to "always pray".
He would tell us, God is with us, he walks with us through all dangers and challenges.
"Pray Regularly" means- to stay in touch with God.

Many people believe that praying is saying  to God our requests .
God is not like an ATM machine into which we through  a box
our services and prayers enter and then in  the bottom expecting the result of what we have typed.
it is because of this  many people are disappointed when their expectations are not met ..
Prayer changes us human beings only - and not God!
God is always the one that faces us in love.
God's love for us is unchanging.

Thy will be done on earth as in heaven, "

We are Missionaries

Dear sisters and brothers in Jesus Christ, 
let me  greet you a bit differently.
I greet  you as missionaries in Jesus Christ.
The reason is as follows:

In this year there have been many natural disasters in various countries: Earthquakes in Haiti, floods in Pakistan, etc.
We have not forgotten the great devastating tsunami.
Whenever a great catastrophe happened in the world, many people help with donations of money, food, clothes ... ....
And the church plays a special role.
It is always in the front row when it is necessary to help the victims.
We, as the "body of Christ", were called by the bishops,
to help with Naturkatstrophen with our donation.
Whenever the church calls its members to donate and share,it  
reminds us of the Order of Jesus and his "Divine Mission".
Today when we celebrate World Mission Sunday and give our donation to the mission, we are indirectly missionaries.
I therefore welcomed you as missionaries in Jesus Christ.

The church follows the  missions of Jesus. 
Through  parables he told the people about the message of the Kingdom of God and  showed through his life  the role model of a missionary.
The parable of the Good Samaritan is an example. Go and do likewise - says Jesus.
"Go and do  likewise," Jesus says to us too.

This  biblical word is the title of this year's World Mission Sunday.
World Mission Sunday invites us to ponder the importance of world mission and how we can make our contribution through prayer and donations.

Friendship with Jesus (Lk:19.1-10)

I'm always interested in sightseeing.

It is always interesting and nice to   get into the city of Cologne on the tower of the cathedral and from there a view of the city to have.Or  from the Church of Mary Help to have a view of the city of Passau. However, the climb needs exercise and effort . But the view makes us forget the effort and feel  pleased when we have the intented view .

For such a view we should   be a bit high and far. For the right view of  a tourist attraction you need distance and movement.

In today's Gospel we find the person of Zacchaeus. He wants to see the person of Jesus as a "landmark". Therefore Zacchaeus ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree. Zacchaeus knows that it is small and it is not easy for him to see Jesus through the crowd. Therefore, he climbed a tree. The movement needed courage ad effort , even to be ashamed of the other people. But his strong inner desire to see Jesus, has motivated him. No matter what people think or say about him.

Jesus always had a fondness for such people. Therefore, he has the tax collectors, sinners, etc. praised and told that they may go to heaven - before the Pharisees. 

When Jesus wanted to be the guest of Zacchaeus,  this was a sign that  what he told in the parables of the lost sheep or the lost coin was true. Jesus himself is acting  it out  and  shows in his life.
He seeks the sinner. He came to forgive sins. This theme of  repentance -you all know, since your preparation for first Holy communion.

Jesus was a guest in the house of Zacchaeus, a sinner. We also want  Jesus  as the  guest in our home. In a table prayer, we pray: Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest. And even though we are sinners, if we honestly wish , he comes  as a guest in our house. 

  Sometimes, when one wins a lottery, gets    an invitation to have a dinner with a celebrity. Zacchaeus wins - to his great surprise -  a meal with Jesus. Zacchaeus, a tax collector and at that time regarded as a sinner is invited to have  dinner with Jesus, who is without sin. A meal is a sign of friendship and love.

Friendship with God is beautiful and necessary. A  meal with God can turn our lives. The life of Zacchaeus was reversed by the encounter with Jesus.
The celebration of the Eucharist - the heavenly meal - is an opportunity to remember our sins, as did Zacchaeus. He remembers his unjust deeds. This has led him to share with others.
The sacrament of penance and conversion to God is the result of friendship with Jesus.

The experience of Zacchaeus is very positive and hopeful.

 We are gathered here today to see Jesus and experience. Everyone must watch this desire to have him personally. And we must work hard and move: This can be a personal prayer, the quiet remembrance of God, to constantly be with him in relation to sometimes having  a different position  of  glance.
Good God, plese  Let us have good experiences with the friendship of Jesus. Amen.

Life- A Limited Time Offer (Lk.20:27-40)

Dear sisters and brothers,

It's now been a week since we have blessed the graves of our dead and prayed for them. Maybe we have this week more often thought of our dead - maybe even about our  own death.
Where are our dead? Or what they're doing now?
We believe in the resurrection of the dead and we have prayed for them and all the poor souls.

Some people think that the  life of the departed after death continues just as they have lived here on earth.  The people of Jesus' time also had such thoughts. In today's Gospel we hear of the Sadducees. They were a group who deny the resurrection. Some of them come to Jesus and ask him a question, which looks at first sight very logical. He used this question acco.to  the Law of Moses. The question is about the future of women who have taken seven brothers in succession for his wife. Whose  is this woman after  death?

In his reply, Jesus says quite clearly that life after death is very different than here on earth. Through the resurrection, we are like  angels. There is no difference between man and woman, rich or poor, politician, farmer and teacher, whether African, Asian or European.
Who is called to participate in the resurrection is  without space and time. Only We  Human beings on earth  need space and time. When one is arisen to God ,then is like angel - who is as God - without space and time.

That is the goal of humanity. This is eternity - without limit, without time.
Only we have to die. With God there is no death. For him all are alive.

Only Here on Earth we need the wedding to make  the love between the couple  complete and to ensure their descendants for generations. These are all earthly things
What can we understand from today's gospel?
One sentence I find especially important: for him - God - all are alive ... Lk.20.39.
We do not have to be dead, we have the freedom to think and  and to work. This time is a gift from God.
In the advertising brochures, I often read the word "free". These free offers are only a few days. After that there is no longer the same offering. Our life is also a "free offer" of God. It is valid for a period of time. We do not know to which day. On the day of our death ends this listing. Then you can not get back the same life and nothing to catch up.

I am always glad that I had viewed in my hometown   good experiences in the relations between parents and children. This includes praying together in the evening - in a prayer room - for about half an hour. Only then will eat together. Although it is sometimes difficult for a family, but the children there try to take care of their parents until their death. Here also  I could find good people, caring for their parents.

We have only one life. What we want to do good - must be done  here and now. I have met many people at the cemetery, crying at the graves of their deceased and regret what they have not done  with their loved ones when they were alive.
My parents are old and are still alive. For me it is always a blessing to meet them and, if possible, to make them happy. I try to spend too much time with them, sit with them, take a trip, etc. With each goodbye I'm sad and I hope always to have them  for a long time alive. So  are we human beings. We always wish that we can be togetherwith our loved ones  for   long time. Let us ask ourselves whether we also use this gift of time to make our fellow beings  happy?
If we can answer this question with YES, we can live with peace in our hearts. Then we can think over in peace about our deceased at the cemetery.
May God help us, in joy and peace to live! Amen.

• നമ്മളെല്ലാവരും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മക്കളാണ് . ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുന്പില് ഭാഷ, സംസ്കാരം, നാട് , നിറം ഇവയുടെ വ്യത്യാസം ഇല്ല.ഒരു ഭാഷയും ഒരു സംസ്കാരവും ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രവും ഞാന് മറ്റതിനെക്കാള് കേമമാണ് എന്ന് അഹങ്കരിക്കാന് ദൈവം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. രാജ്യ -ഭാഷ-സംസ്കാര ഭേദം ഇല്ലാതെ ആത്മീയ ഉണര്‍വിനു സഹായിക്കുന്ന ചിന്തകള് ഒരു കുടക്കീഴില് കൊണ്ടുവരികയാണ് എന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശ്യം. ആത്മീയ ഉണര്‍വിനുപകരിക്കുന്ന ചെറു ചിന്തകളെ 3 ഭാഷയില് ഒരുമിച്ചു നല്കാനുള്ള ഒരു എളിയ ഉദ്യമം. കുറവുകളെ സഹിഷ്ണതയോടെ കാണണമെന്ന് അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു  .

Das Weltmissionssonntag

Der Reiche Man und Lazarus(Lk,16.19-)

Der reiche Mann, der in seinem irdischen Leben keine Augen hatte für die armen, die hungernden und wohnungslosen Mitmenschen, sieht von der Unterwelt aus Lazarus.

Aber auch dort sieht er Lazarus als einen Diener, nicht als gleichberechtigen . Mitmenschen. Das zeigt die furchtbare Mentalität des reichen Mannes.

Reich mit Geld muss auch reich mit Herz sein. Jesus braucht uns, das zu tun. Geld ohne Augen und Herzen kann uns nicht leiten. Das leitet uns nur zu Angst und Unglück. Wenn wir miteinander teilen, wird unser Glück größer.  Wir sind als soziale Menschen geboren und wenn wir miteinander teilen, werden wir menschlich, ja göttlich.

Wer glücklich sein will – in dieser Welt und in der kommenden Welt – hält sich an die Botschaft des Evangeliums: teilen von Geld, Gesundheit und das Gebet mit Ihren Mitmenschen.

10 Aussätzigen(Lk,17.11-19)

Im diesem Evangelium finden wir nun einen Samariter zusammen mit neun anderen Aussätzigen, weil alle Aussätzigen aus der Gemeinschaft verbannt und ausgestoßen wurden
In ihrer Krankheit waren alle zehn gleich – gleich krank, gleich isoliert, gleich unglücklich. Da gab es keinen Unterschied zwischen Juden und Samariter.

Aber nach der Heilung werden sie ungleich. Einer kehrt um zur Quelle der Heilung. Seine Seele ist rein. Man kann körperlich ganz gesund sein, aber trotzdem nicht heil vor Gott.

Gott- Ein Hilfe Automat?

 Gott gleicht eben nicht einem Automat,  in dem wir oben das Geldstück  

unserer Leistungen und Gebete hineinwerfen;  und dann muss unten das von mir Erbetene herauskommen.

Mission

Ich begrüße Sie als Missionare und Missionarinnen in Jesus Christus.

Das hat folgenden Grund:

In diesem Jahre gab es viele Natur-Katastrophen in den verschiedensten Ländern: Erdbeben in Haiti, Hochwasser in Pakistan  usw. 

Wir haben noch nicht die großen verheerenden Tsunami vergessen.

Immer wenn eine große Katastrophe in der Welt passiert, helfen viele Menschen mit Geldspenden, Essen, Kleidung…….

Und die Kirche spielt dabei eine besondere Rolle.

Sie steht immer in der ersten Reihe, wenn es gilt, den Opfern zu helfen.

Wir, als der „Leib Christi“, wurden von den Bischöfen aufgerufen,

bei den Naturkatstrophen mit unserer Spende zu helfen.

Immer, wenn die Kirche ihre Mitglieder aufruft  zum spenden und zum teilen,

erinnert uns das an den Auftrag Jesu und an seine „göttlichen Misssion“.

Heute wenn wir Weltmissionssonntag feiern und unsere Spende  geben für die Mission, sind wir indirekt Missionare und Missionarinnen.

Deshalb habe ich Sie begrüßt als Missionare und Missionarinnen

in Jesus Christus.

Das  kirchliche Leben ist ein missionarisches Leben in der Nachfolge Jesu.

In Gleichnissen erklärte er den Menschen die Botschaft vom Reich Gottes und von der Nachfolge und wie man ein Missionar sein kann.

Das Gleichnis vom Barmherzigen Samariter ist ein Beispiel dafür.

Geh und handle genauso  -    sagt Jesus.

Gebet ist ein Lebenszeichen!

Gebet ist ein Lebenszeichen !

Chile war in diesen Tagen ein Brennpunkt der Medien. Wir alle wissen schon warum:

Bei einem Stollenbruch in der Kupfermine San José in der Atacama Wüste

waren 33 Bergleute für 70 Tage verschüttet. Am 12. August erklärte das Bergbauministerium, die Wahrscheinlichkeit, die Kumpel noch lebend zu finden, sei "gering". Am 22. August die Nachricht geht um die Welt: Sie schickten ein klein Zettle nach oben dass sie noch leben. Eine Kamera zeigt dann erste Bilder der Kumpels. Am 13. Oktober sind alle 33 Bergleute gerettet worden.

Der klein Zettle war der wichtigste Punkt, in dieser Rettungsaktion. Menschen sind manchmal genauso wie die Bergbau Männer. Wenn wir Menschen hilflos sind, wenn wir in Not sind brauchen wir Hilfe. So wie die Bergbaumänner mit diesem kleinen Zettle den, sie vom Unten nach Oben schickten. Diese rufe vom Unten nach Oben, kann man Gebet nennen.

Gebet ist ein Lebenszeichen. Gebet ist ein Anruf an Gott von der Erde zum Himmel. Es ist ein Zeichen der Presence. Wenn wir  Menschen  Hilfe brauchen, wem rufen wir an? Gott.

Nicht nur wenn wir  im Not sind, sollten wir beten sondern Allezeit unseres Lebens. Unsere Verbindung mit Gott kann nur im Gebet früchtetragen.

It is a humble effort to evoke the spiritual nourishment in us. We all are Children of God in spite of varience of Land, Language and culture. With  this thought  in my mind, i have tried to integrate this blog with 3 different languages-  English, German and   Malayalam(my mother tongue- a south indien language).

Welt und Leben – ein lange dauernder Film(Lk.21, 5-19)

 

 „Wenn ich einen Film anschaue, muss ich den von Anfang bis zum Ende sehen. Sonst ist er langweilig und ohne Bedeutung“ – so sagen viele Leute.

Ich glaube, das ist richtig.

Im heutigen Evangelium sehen wir einen Augenblick aus zwei verschiedenen Perspektiven.

Da sind die Menschen, die sich über die Schönheit des Tempels freuen und lobend darüber sprechen.

Jesus aber sagt ihnen den Verfall des Tempels voraus: kein Stein wird auf dem anderen bleiben, alles wird niedergerissen werden. Er sagt eine schwere Zukunft voraus. Er spricht von Krieg und Unruhen, Erdbeben, Seuchen und Hungersnöten.

Jesus, der Sohn Gottes, kennt die Vergangenheit, die Gegenwart und die Zukunft von allem.

Er weiß, was in der Vergangenheit war und in Zukunft passieren wird. Deshalb konnte er all diese tragischen Dinge auch vorhersagen.

Die Menschen dort haben nur die Gegenwart gesehen – nur ein Teil vom Ganzen. Sie haben gedacht, dass die momentane Schönheit erhalten bleibt. Nur was jetzt ist, ist für die Menschen wichtig und richtig.

Wir Menschen bekommen nur Zeit für ein Leben. Nur in dieser Zeitspanne können wir die Weltgeschichte mit unseren Augen sehen. Und das ist ein winziger Augenblick im Vergleich mit Gottes Ewigkeit.

Die ganze „Weltgeschichte“ kennt nur einer und das ist GOTT!

Unsere Welt oder der Kosmos ist also ein Film, den kein Mensch jemals von Anfang bis zum Ende sehen kann.

Jesus, als Sohn Gottes, schaut alles und weiß alles. Er sagt Krieg und Unruhen vorher. Er spricht über Leid und Prüfungen im Glauben.

Alles, wovon Jesus im heutigen Evangelium spricht sehen wir rund um unser Leben: Krieg, Erdbeben, Streit in den Familien, Hungersnöte usw. Viele Leute, die das sehen, denken und sagen: das Ende der Welt ist nahe.

Heute begehen wir den Volkstrauertag. Wir denken in besonderer Weise an die Opfer von Krieg und Gewalt. Krieg war für viele das Ende ihrer Zeit. Ich denke, dass diese Menschen damals dachten, das ist der Weltuntergang.

Jesus sagt uns ganz klar; dass mit diesen Zeichen die Welt nicht endet.

Im letzten Jahr habe ich den Film „2012“ angeschaut. Der handelt vom Untergang der Welt in wenigen Jahren. Vielleicht haben Sie ihn auch gesehen. Es ist gut, über diese Dinge nachzudenken. Aber Jesus warnt uns vor den falschen Propheten: „Gebt acht, dass man euch nicht irreführt.“

Wir Menschen wissen zwar immer mehr, aber ich denke, der Aberglaube wird auch immer größer. Viele Menschen haben Angst vor einem unruhigen Leben, einer Naturkatastrophe, vor allem Angst auch vor dem Tod.

Ich habe gehört, dass es auch bei Ihnen früher so üblich war, am Totenbett für die Verstorbenen zu beten. Früher hatten die Menschen nicht so viel Angst die Gesichter der Verstorbenen anzuschauen und am offenen Sarg zu stehen.

Tod, Friedhof, Krieg und Naturkatastrophen – dies alles erinnert uns daran, dass das Ende der Zeit hier auf dieser Welt für uns einmal zu Ende geht. Diese Erinnerung kann uns helfen, jeden Tag ein bisschen besser zu leben.

Jesus möchte uns immer wieder daran erinnern, dass die Schönheit auch eine andere Seite hat. Aber er sagt, das muss uns nicht mutlos machen, sondern uns stärken, den Glauben an ihn in unserem Leben zu bezeugen.

Das Wort Jesu gibt uns Kraft und Hoffnung in allen Prüfungen und Leiden zu bestehen: „Wenn ihr standhaft bleibt, werdet ihr das Leben gewinnen.“

O Gott, gib uns die Kraft dazu. Amen.
